Now unfortunately he just associates the name with the kid who pushes him at school. The sad thing for us was that for weeks he was trying to explain it to us, saying Gustavo was 'bagirrrl', or so we thought. We would then respond to Rockett 'Gustavo is a bad girl?' He would frustratingly respond with, 'PEGAR' and flail his arms. We just nodded our heads with concern having no idea what he was trying to say. Is was only last week when we finally realized that he was saying. That's the problem when we are half-heartedly trying to raise him trilingual, while we are only your typical American monolingual dummies.
